Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) is a payment service based on the Unique Identification Number, empowering you to use Aadhaar Card as your identity to access your respective Aadhaar linked bank account to seamlessly make financial transactions through Aadhaar-based authentication. It also helps you perform basic banking transactions like balance inquiry, cash deposit, cash withdrawal, remittances through a Business Correspondent.
It is a bank-led model that allows online interoperable financial transactions at PoS (Point of Sale / Micro ATM) through the Business Correspondent (BC) of any bank using Aadhaar authentication. This is a simple, secure, and user-friendly platform for financial transactions.
Your bank account must be linked to Aadhaar to use AEPS.
